Let’s face it, no one looks forward to spending their first day of a new job filling out the abundance of new hire paperwork that is often required. New hires are typically more excited to start learning the ins and outs of their new job rather than getting a hand cramp from filling out form after form.

When you provide a way for employees to fill out electronic forms even prior to their first day, you not only make the process less painful for your new hires, but you show them that your company cares about and invests in its employees. What a great first impression to make! As we all know, when employees feel valued, they are more likely to be engaged in their work and stick around for the long haul.

Automation of the new hire process can also allow your existing employees and managers to stay well-informed by automatically generating communications about upcoming new hires. That means that they can be ready for the new employee prior to their first day whether it is getting their desk set up, bringing in coffee and donuts, organizing training or even just setting aside some time to stop by their desk to welcome them to the company. It’s all goes a long way towards making the new employee feel like part of the team right out of the gate.

It’s also great for the HR department since it will reduce the administrative burden, eliminate the need for paper file cabinets and make all employee infromation available at the click of a button. Imagine not having to dig into paper files each and every time you need to review or add something to an employee file?

So if you haven’t already implemented an automated onboarding system, maybe it’s time to consider it. It truly is a win-win solution for the new hire process.
