Sage has announced the official end-of-life for Sage Abra.
On December 28, 2020 Sage will no longer supply support for any Sage Abra client.
AS OF September 1, 2020, Sage updates of abra will cease.
What does this mean?
This means that clients will not be able to receive updates, security fixes, tax and legislative updates after the September 2020 release. Additionally, access to the support center at Sage Corporate for assistance will no longer be available as of December 28, 2020. CS3 Technology plans to provide limited assistance to Sage Abra Clients until May 31, 2020. We anticipate that all current Abra clients should schedule and complete a migration by that date.
Abra clients will no longer receive:
- Product Updates
- Security and Bug Fixes
- Tax Updates
- Legislative Updates
Why did Sage choose to retire this product?
The FoxPro database that serves as the data storage for Sage Abra is no longer supported by Microsoft. Since Sage is committed to providing quality products, they could no longer include this product in their offerings. All software products built on old technology eventually reach the end of their life requiring a business decision to discontinue availability and maintenance.
What about THE annual fees I pay for support?
The final date for Sage to support Abra is December 28, 2020. Sage Abra Suite customers that are up for M&S renewal beginning in December 2019 will receive prorated renewal quotes reflecting the shorter support period.
What are my next steps?
CS3 Technology will be conducting 4 educational webinars/classes to provide more details and answer all questions. These will last 20 minutes each. They will be conducted on these dates (Central time):
- Tuesday, June 25th - 2:00 pm
- Thursday, June 27th - 9:00 am
- Every Wednesday at 9:00 am Beginning July 10th
