Congratulations to

Anthony Arington, Citizen Potawatomi Nation

(applause, applause, applause, applause)

Here is what was submitted with Anthony’s nomination:

While Anthony does not usually interface with the organization’s customers, he treats his co-workers as his customers. Anthony has a desire to affect the success of his employer. His way of ensuring this happens is to help each employee he works with to be successful in their job. To Anthony, this means that they have the right tools to work with and that they truly understand how to use these tools.

During one phase of the implementation project Anthony was tasked with training over 75 supervisors and their assistants in the use of a new purchasing approval process. This was a function which was being moved from paper to an online process. As Anthony trained the users in smaller groups, Anthony made improvements in each subsequent training class. Additionally, many times Anthony would spend individual time with a co-worker who had specific questions or suggestions about the new system. Each suggestion was noted and taken back to the software publisher for improvement needed in the system. Each time, Anthony went back to the user and let them know how their suggestions would be handled.

I believe Anthony Arington “Demonstrates Success”.

Way to go, Anthony. Your artwork is on the way. Keep up the good work.

It seems that sales tax compliance has never been more complicated. To help your small business achieve greater success and security this new year, we offer you 12 sales tax tips for 2012. Each tip was selected by an Avalara sales tax expert, and is designed to help you stay on top of the ever-shifting sales tax landscape. Watch for a new tip and case study each day, for the first twelve days of the year

Determine if you created nexus in any new jurisdiction over the year.

Have you sent an agent or sales representative to a new state? Delivered and installed a product in a new state on a regular basis? Did you hire new employees that work from a remote location? Answering yes to any of these questions may mean that you will have nexus in a new state in 2012.

Nexus laws are often quite complex (see the case study below), and each state is different. Review the laws in each new state where you conducted business, and If you have indeed established nexus, check the state’s sales tax laws so that you can accurately calculate, file, and remit there in 2012.

By now you should have received information from Sage regarding the new client portal. Our consultants no longer have the ability to see support tickets by default. Sage has empowered their users to grant permissions to their resellers to view support tickets. As your business partner we are requesting that you allow us to see your support tickets so that we can serve you better when you need us.

Q: How do I give access to my Reseller to see and open Support Tickets on my behalf?

A: Log on to the Customer Portal. Select Profile > Profile Details on the menu bar. Check the box next to “Allow my Reseller to see my support tickets” and click the Save button at the bottom of the screen. Your Reseller will be able to see tickets starting from that point forward, they will not be able to see any Support Tickets created before that check box was selected and saved.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please call us at 918-496-1600

Congratulations to

Bill Turner, Human Resources Director, Valir Health
(applause, applause, applause, applause)

Here is what was submitted with Bill’s nomination:

I have worked with Bill Turner on numerous Abra sales engagements over the past few years. Through each of the transactions and sales processes, Bill has been courteous and professional, always keeping the best interests of his team and company in the forefront of the decision process, while ensuring CS3 Technology is treated respectfully at all times regardless of a positive or negative sales decision.

Recently, Bill completed an implementation of HR Actions for his department. We closed the project with a traditional closing meeting which allows both the client and CS3 team to discuss the project, identify open issues, learn from any mistakes, strive for improvement in processes and talk candidly about the overall product / project experience. We had a great meeting with Bill. He was enthusiastic, complimentary, informative and respectful, even when discussing some minor technical issues that could have caused some real problems during implementation. There was no finger pointing or blame, just an opportunity to learn for next time. Having clients like Valir Health, and the joy of working with professionals like Bill Turner, makes my job that much more fun. Thanks, Bill for being a true HR professional!

Way to go, Bill. Your artwork is on the way. Keep up the good work.

Just a reminder…get those nominations in for the 3rd behavior – “Demonstrate Success”

Customers often need a little help recognizing success. If you have defined success in the customers’ terms, the recognition will be a little easier. Always make sure acknowledgment is communicated up and down throughout the customer’s organization.

Be sure to visit CS3 Technology to make your nomination for this months behavior!   You have until January 31st to make your nomination.    Remember, you can nominate more than one person for any behavior!  Nomination Form

Well, I must say that Shawn Slavin is our All-American winner today with that Santa tie.  Sheri Blaho is sporting some packages on her earrings  in hopes of many presents come Christmas day.

The tie and earring contest continues.  Today, without prior collaboration, both Sheri and Shawn have Christmas lights as their theme.  Ho Ho Ho

Sheri wins…..sorry Shawn.  Her darling earrings are gingerbread cookies.  Today the office did their 5th annual cookie exchange.  They also ate ham at the company Christmas luncheon; Shawn is a bit of a ham so he does get an honorable mention!

Meetings today and Sheri brought out some bling and Shawn brought color to the day!
